Anyone who goes to his or her call of duty is regarded as a great person, ready to protect the nation. Huge number of men goes to the battlefield and fight for the nation. Does every military personal gets this honor?

This exclusive batch of prestige and bravery is not available for everyone. Otherwise, each and every soldier recruited in the army would have got that honor and nothing special would have been left those medals. Besides, going to the call of duty they have to exhibit extreme bravery to this award. So, without fighting in a battlefield, how can you claim your very own free Medal of Honor?

In the army, it is not possible but out of the defense forces, certainly it is possible. Inspired with this concept of Medal of Honor the video game manufacturer giant company, Electronic Arts in 1999, introduced a military game with this name. Fallout New Vegas

If you take a look at some of the recent screen shots for Bethesda’s newest entry in the Fallout series, you will probably notice that graphically, not much has changed since Fallout 3. This is due to the fact that the game runs on the same engine used in Fallout 3, and in many respects, the textures, artwork, and animations remain the same. This may upset some, as New Vegas could potentially have been released as an expansion for Fallout 3, as opposed to a full priced standalone game, but development has changed hands in such a way that I will gladly pay up.

The original Fallout games were developed by Black Isle Studios, and they allowed for much more freedom in both action and morals than the Bethesda developed Fallout 3 was able to provide. Fallout 3 was a great game, but it ended up feeling diluted and restrictive regarding matters of character choice. Interactions typically fell to combat, whereas in the first two Fallout games, you could use civilized conversation, infallible logic, proven science, or if absolutely necessary, a cheap shot to the groin.

While Black Isle Studios was dissolved, many of its employees now work for developer Obsidian Entertainment. Backed by Bethesda, serving as producer this time around, Obsidian Entertainment has been given the Fallout 3 engine to do with what they will, and from what I have seen so far, every complaint I had about Fallout 3 has been addressed.

The V.A.T.S. targeting system has been revamped to not only include groin shots once again, but special weapon specific finishing moves as well. The diversity of character interaction has increased, and those that choose to specialize into the social aspects of their character will see much greater rewards than those offered in Fallout 3.

Another issue I experienced with Fallout 3 was the overall dilution of my character as I approached max level. You ended up literally having every skill in the game, with the only real variance being in what order you chose to max them out. This has supposedly been fixed in New Vegas, with characters becoming very specialized depending on what skill route they choose.

I can’t wait until October 19th, when Fallout: New Vegas is released in North America, for I shall delve deep into the man cave and return enlightened by the developmental power of Obsidian Entertainment. If it does end up sucking however, you can call me out on it here.

The Best PlayStation 3 Games

If you are not a gamer yourself, then buying PlayStation 3 games as a gift for someone this Christmas 2010 may prove to be a confusing business for you. There are so many thousands of games out there that you could be getting – how do you know which ones to go for? Well, hopefully this article will be of some use in helping you to sift through the bewildering range and pick out the best one for your loved one that they will really love to receive as a gift from you.

Here are my top 3 choices, based on the PlayStation games which are widely predicted to top the bestseller lists for Christmas shopping this year and on my own opinions about the quality as well.

  1. Call of Duty: Black Ops – There always seems to be a call of duty game out just before Christmas to fully capitalize on the biggest sales period of the year, and they always come at or near the top of the best seller lists. This year will be no different with the release of ‘Black Ops’. This is a first person shooter game, and if you are buying for a teenage boy that likes games where you shoot people, then this is undoubtedly the game they will want this year.
  2. Gran Truism – If you are looking for something a bit less violent then Gran Truism 5, or GT5, would be an excellent choice. It’s a car racing game, its great quality, and it the fifth in an incredibly popular series.
  3. Little Big Planet 2 – If you want something for a younger child, or for the whole family to play together, then this is set to be the number one game of 2010.

Why This Autumn Is a Great Time for Gamers

If you’re even remotely into video games, you might have noticed by now that there is one particular time in the year when most (or at least a lot) of the best new games come out. This time is always around October and November (some might call it autumn of fall) and this year is no different.

The reason why so many amazing video games are released at this time of the year is because it’s right in the run up to Christmas, so it has been proven to be the most profitable time for games companies and publishers.

So what games can we expect to grace our shelves this year? First of all, there’s the long awaited Gran Truism 5 (for the PS3). If you’ve never had the chance to play a Gran Truism game, the series has been described by gamers and journalists alike that it is the ‘most realistic driving experience ever’.

Also coming out is Call of Duty: Black Ops. The yearly Call of Duty (commonly referred to as ‘COD’) release has almost instantaneously become a major event in the entertainment world’s calendar (especially since the stellar success of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 in 2009). This game looks set to be every bit as good as its predecessor, and offers a ton of new features, weapons, kill streaks and more to play around with. If you’ve never played a COD game before (especially online), you really are missing out, since nothing comes close to adrenaline pumping, full throttle fun!
