How to Play Video Games

If you have been alive here on planet Earth for the last (oh, I don’t know) decade or so, then you know that there have been and continue to be naysayers who claim that video games will ruin you.

The intellectual arguments that they have put forth allege that the games are “distracting,” “expensive” and can become “addictive.” (Wow.) Jon Hens haw, M.A., from familyresource.com writes that the wasted hours could be “harmful to relationships” and even “rob you of real life experiences.”

Just as ardently, however – if not more so – proponents of game play have asserted the benefits of the sport, especially in the fantasy/role-playing genre.

In an online article entitled, “The Good Things about Video Games,” the Media Awareness Network says gaming provides a fun and social form of entertainment where kids can become “comfortable with technology” while reinforcing “teamwork and cooperation when played with others.”

While both of these groups probably have a point (“too much of a good thing can be bad” and “see the good in every bad situation”), I think moderation is key.

I think PC games are fun if they are in a genre I like. And they are challenging. They challenge my reflexes and hand-eye coordination as well as my math and reasoning skills.

If I spend about two hours a day, I find that I am more relaxed, feel better about myself (especially if I do well) and am better able to concentrate.

If I, however, spend less time, I struggle with restlessness and boredom. And, conversely, spending too much time leaves me feeling drained (and I usually start making a lot of really dumb mistakes).

But the thing that really irritates me is that many times these anti-gaming groups say that all video games are bad – “phooey.”

That simply is not true. While it may be true of teen games like War craft, how could it possibly apply to Mario or Zelda? When anti-gaming zealots make such ridiculous claims, they lose any hint of credibility and my attention (and my dad’s, too – he grew up on Mario)!

My advice: Set reasonable boundaries. It is no different from television. You would look stunned if your neighbors just threw out all their television sets because they did not like one of the channels.

Modern Warfare 2 Vs Battlefield

This is an argument which I have listened to for the past several months now, and both sides have pretty points (they are BOTH great games).

There is a LOT of variables in these games, but we are going to stick to 5 basics in this comparison. So let’s start with:

* Weapons-Lots of great choices for both games, no doubt about that. BBC2 has more choices of guns, but the customization options in MW2 are far superior. Another point to make is the sound the weapons in BBC2 are AWESOME! The weapons in MW2 have less recoil, and function more smoothly. Also it seems easier to successfully use the variety of weapons for each skill class (or kit in BBC2) in Modern Warfare 2 than in Battlefield: Bad Company 2. It is tougher to level up in BBC 2 if not playing the assault kit, and this becomes a problem later on when most of the team is all assault class.

Winner: Modern Warfare 2-Overall this is a really close call, but I personally give this one to Modern Warfare 2. Mainly because of the greater consistency in kill ability between classes and greater customization options.

* Variety-Modern Warfare 2 multiplayer modes include: Free-For-All, Search & Destroy, Demolition, Sabotage, Domination, Team Death match, and Capture the Flag, and several other customizations of these game types. Battlefield: Bad Company 2 multiplayer modes include: Conquest, Rush, Squad Rush, and Squad Death match.

Winner: Modern Warfare 2-Lots more variety of online game play for sure.

* Vehicles-No Brainer here! The only vehicles you get to ride/drive in MW 2 are for kill streaks, and even then not for very long. BBC 2 has gun boats, tanks, trucks, jeeps, helicopters, and more. Top that MW 2! Hey Infinity Ward; why no vehicles for MW 2?

Winner:Battlefield:Bad Company 2. Sadly the only game even competing in this category.

* Maps-An interesting comparison her, as both games have lots of quality maps with plenty of open terrain and a variety of desert, jungle, and urban settings. The maps and buildings on MW 2 are more detailed, however they are far less destructible. One great thing about BBC 2 are the great explosions, and while there are too many empty buildings in BBC 2, it’s fun to blow them up! Another feature to notice is there are lot’s more places to hide (for you campers) in MW 2, especially outside.

Star craft Brood war Strategies

Basically Brood Wars is set around about the early part of the twenty-sixth century in Chris Mitten’s Star craft universe. From earth, the Terrain exiles have colonized a far off area of the Milky Way known as the Copula Sector, and have in fact established several governments already. As all good things must come to an end, the land is eventually the central point of immense civil war, which ultimately ends with the formation of the Terrain Dominion. Soon after, humanity again takes a nose dive with clashes between the Protons and the Zero populations, and towards the end of the Star craft release, this war ends in the death of the Zero leader, the Over mind. He dies on the Protons home world of Air.

Due to the untimely death of the Over mind, there is nobody to command the Zero population and they mindlessly rampage across this Protons home world, whilst the cerebrates attempt to regain some sort of control. The cerebrates are the secondary commanders of the Swarm. It doesn’t take long to discover that there is in fact alien life in a sector known as Copula, and so the UED (United Earth Directorate), the international agency that controls Earth, makes a decision to send an expeditionary force to see if they can secure the Copula sector and prevent the alien inhabitants from finding Earth. Two days after the end of Star craft, the Brood War commences.

Because there are different races with different abilities, strengths and weaknesses, there are also many different strategies that can be considered in the Star craft world. Every strategy has a counter strategy, so depending on what race you are playing, and what race you are playing against, will somewhat determine the best strategies for you to play. There are of course some general strategies, and it is always a good idea to take a look at these to master them before tackling other more advanced Star craft Brood war strategies.

One of the best rated and widely reported strategies is the Drop strategy. This strategy can be used with any of the races. This is a strategy where someone transports one or more deadly units into the side or back of a base, and if completed correctly the deadly unit can kill all of the enemy workers inside the base. Not only may the workers be eliminated, but the opponent could be wiped out completely, as you will see in many Star craft Brood war strategies guides. Spend some time going over the guide that you have, and you can follow any of the many master pros around the world to see if this or other strategies could be right for you.

Multiple Pay Line Slots

Multiple pay line slots are very popular in online casinos since they increase your chances of winning.

These days, multiple pay line slots, more commonly known as multi line slots are becoming a trend in online casinos. Since their introduction, these casino slots have grown in popularity thanks to their multiple pay lines. It is now possible to pull off winning combination’s across more than one line at the same time. The biggest advantage of playing multi line slots is that the hit rates are higher and a single spin might enable you to win on more than one line.

This is how a multi line slot typically works in online casinos. Suppose you pay one coin for one pay line and on the remaining pay lines, your friend pays 3 coins. Once the reels stop and the winning combination appears on the first and third line, you get to win for the first line alone whereas your friend takes money from both the first and third lines. Some casino slots also come with vertical, diagonal and even zigzag pay lines. The pay lines have to be first activated with the required number of coins before commencing play.

Most people opt for multi line slots only because it increases their chances of winning. However, some online casino reviews are not in favor of multi lines as they are of the opinion that lines tend to overlap and in the process you end up winning one pay line while losing the others. It is advisable to ensure that the lines do not overlap and are separate from each other. Various websites on online casinos provide some useful information regarding the slot machines, free casino games and reviews of best online casino slots.

The idea behind such reviews on online slots is to facilitate people to play responsibly. There is a tendency among people to get hooked on to gambling online and in the process they may end up losing a lot of money. People also need to realize that such games are only for the sake of entertainment and need to be waged within limits. Online reviews are more like an online casino guide to let people know of the common mistakes players usually commit while gambling and help them choose the right slots online. These reviews are also important as they let us know which online casinos are legal, the top casinos online that offer free casino games and also provide answers to some frequently asked questions.
